Following last nights arrest of WWE superstar Jack Swagger, many Wrestling-News.net readers have been asking if WWE have the right to terminate his contract.  All active members of the WWE roster are subject to the Wellness Policy, which states:

Any WWE Talent, who is arrested, convicted or who admits to a violation of law relating to use, possession, purchase, sale or distribution of drugs will be in material breach of his/her contract with WWE and subject to immediate dismissal.

In addition to the penalties that may be imposed pursuant to his/her contract with WWE, a violation of this Section 14 may also be treated as a positive test for drugs prohibited by this Policy and therefore, subject to the penalties set forth in Section 15 of this Policy.

It is not yet known what action WWE are set to take over Swagger after he was charged with DUI, marijuana possession, and speeding following the SmackDown tapings.  It is likely that Swagger will be suspended and lose his World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania.  This would leave WWE needing an alternate opponent for Alberto Del Rio, with Mark Henry a possible candidate.

A wildcard that WWE could play is Dolph Ziggler’s Money In The Bank contract.  If Del Rio is left without an opponent for WreslteMania, having Dolph successfully cash in his contract in the coming weeks would see Del Rio entitled to a rematch at WrestleMania.
