New Japan Pro Wrestling crowned a new NJPW WORLD Television Champion as part of today’s NJPW New Beginning In Sapporo 2024 Night 1 event at the Hokkaido Prefectural Sports Center in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan as Matt Riddle defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi to become the new Champion.

Riddle’s victory brings an end to Tanahashi’s 50-day reign as the Champion.
