WWE’s Shawn Michaels took part in a pre-NXT The Great American Bash media call today and discussed several topics, including WWE NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio making appearances on the brand, Tony D’Angelo, Carmelo Hayes, Gable Steveson, Dragon Lee and more.

Michaels said that when it comes to Dominik Mysterio, he is a mature and professional talent, and said that Dominik respects the business and has done well in his NXT appearances so far. Michaels said that he believes that his time in NXT will allow Dominik to find himself more on the main roster.

Michaels praised Tony D’Angelo and said that he was a fan of the prison storyline, noting that D’Angelo showed good acting chops and has the potential to do something outside of the wrestling business. Michaels put over Carmelo Hayes and said that Hayes is someone who is looking forward to the day that he gets called-up to the main roster, but like everyone, he should not get ahead of himself as he wants Hayes to take things one show at a time and wants him to be a flag-bearer for the NXT brand.

Michaels said that in regards to Gable Steveson making his in-ring debut this weekend, Steveson has been around and has been training for quite a while to the point of where he asked if it was possible to get Steveson in the mix down in NXT and was eventually given the green light to start using him. Michaels put over Dragon Lee and said that he is someone who has taken advantage of everything that the WWE Performance Center has to offer, and has asked for no special treatment since the moment he joined the roster.

Michaels also put over Mr. Stone/Robert Stone, and said that he is a very versatile talent on the brand and would like to have him on the NXT brand for as long as he wants to be there as he likes having managers on the show.
