The wife of Rick “Black Bart” Harris posted the following update on his condition over the weekend on his Facebook account.
“Ok people this is the Mrs.
As promised I am posting an update on Bart’s surgery. The doctor wants to operate on December 6, 2012. the only problem is they require money before the surgery can be done. With the deductible and the 15 % that is our share the surgery is going to cost us around $2500.00 to $3,000.00 dollars. They may as well be asking for a million dollars. Maybe I could put off a couple payments and switch one or two around but there is no way I can come up with that. The only other choice we would have is to put off the surgery. We would have to put it off till about February when we would normally get our income tax check. And of course pray that we get one. The usual amount would cover 2/3 of the money. And I could probably save up some money, work alot of overtime to cover the rest. Of course we would have to pray that his gall bladder doesn’t burst in that time.
Well Bart is going to call the surgical facility to see if we can work out an acceptable payment plan. Maybe they will work with us. So I am asking once again, please pray for us. I know that no amount of money is bigger than GOD, and HE can stretch a penny further than anyone else. I have seen him do it. When Bart first became disabled we were cut back to just my check for nine months. I lost my car because I could not afford the payments for both our vehicles. And we cut our spending to the bone. But it was a small price to pay when God was there to stretch each dollar further than ever. And we have been slowly getting back into financial shape. Although this is going to be another set back we are not giving up. I am used to stretching my pennies.
So please pray that those people at the facility can work out a payment plan that we can afford. We really don’t want to have to put off his surgery. I know how much he is hurting, he doesn’t tell me because he doesn’t want me to worry, but I know. I believe the more people that are praying, the more God listens. So Thank all of you in advance. I believe we can do this and I know God can!”
