New Japan Pro Wrestling confirmed the finals for the NJPW Best of the Super Juniors 29 Tournament this Friday during today’s NJPW Best of the Super Juniors 29 Day 12 event at the Toyama Techno Hall West Hall in Toyama, Japan, with Block A winner Hiromu Takahashi to face off against Block B winner El Desperado.
Hiromu Takahashi defeated Taiji Ishimori to win Block A, with both men finishing on 12 points, however due to Takahashi having the head-to-head advantage, he advanced to the finals. Similarly, El Desperado defeated El Phantasmo to win Block B, with his head-to-head advantage advancing him to the finals.
Takahashi has won the NJPW Best of the Super Juniors Tournament on three occasions, in 2018, 2020 and 2021, with Takahashi defeating the aforementioned El Desperado in the 2020 Finals. El Desperado meanwhile has never won the Best of the Super Juniors Tournament.
