In an update to the upcoming TNA Wrestling project that will tape later this month in India, Jason Powell of ProWrestling.NET notes that the project is backed by Endemol, known for their work on the Big Brother series and that the project will tape again in January.
Jeff Jarrett will be heading up the project, with Dave Lagana and Dutch Mantel on creative and Savio Vega working as an agent and helping to train various talent at TNA Wrestling’s developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling.
The roster is said to include Chris Masters, Chavo Guerrero, MVP, Cliff Compton (WWE’s Domino), Nick Dinsmore (WWE’s Eugene), Sonjay Dutt, Shawn Daivari, Arya Daivari, Bobby Lashley and Indian talent currently being trained by Savio Vega, however all stars will be undergoing a name change to avoid any copyright issues. Powell notes that a notable Indian celebrity was involved with TNA Wrestling’s project, however had to back out of the project due to medical issues, with a decision made to bring in Matt Morgan and Abyss to add further star power to the project.
Mantel and Lagana were backstage at last week’s TNA Impact Wrestling tapings and the original plan was to use some of the undercard talent in TNA Wrestling. Powell notes that former WWE superstar Carlito is speculated to be involved with the project, however that isn’t confirmed and that there is no guarantee that any of the wrestlers involved with the project will end up in TNA Wrestling down the line.
