Mexican wrestling star Principe Aereo (real name Luis Angel Salazar) passed away at the age of 26 from an apparent heart attack suffered in the ring while performing for the Mexa Wrestling promotion at the Arena San Juan Pantitlan in Mexico City, Mexico last night.
Aereo collapsed in the ring after taking two chops to the chest and waiting for his opponent to rebound off the ropes for their next spot. Aereo was strapped to a back board by EMT’s and rushed to the back for medical attention, being treated by the Athletic Commission doctor on-site and rushed to a local nearby hospital, but sadly passed away.
Aereo, who had been wrestling since 2010 for promotions including the aforementioned Mexa Wrestling and IWRG, made appearances for the AAA promotion in 2019 and 2020.
On behalf of Wrestling-News.Net, we would like to extend our condolences to the friends, family and fans of Luis “Principe Aereo” Angel Salazar.
