The following results are from a recent WWE SmackDown TV Taping. The taping took place on July 17th, 2012 at the Valley View Casino in San Diego, California and will air on July 20th, 2012 at 8pm Eastern on the SyFy Network.
In Ring Segment
Rey Mysterio came out to open the show and addressed the crowd saying that he’s happy to be back and that he’s excited to be able to come out to his own here in San Diego, California, however Alberto del Rio’s music hits and he comes out with Ricardo Rodriguez. Both Del Rio and Mysterio argue, however Dolph Ziggler’s music hits and he comes out and says that Del Rio has had his chance and his destiny wasn’t fulfilled, but that he is the Money in the Bank holder and the next World Heavyweight Champion. Sheamus’ music hits and he comes out, which starts a brawl between all 4 men with the faces getting the advantage. Mysterio attempts to hit Ziggler with the 619, but Vickie Guerrero makes the save just in time.
8 Man Tag Team Match
Hunico, Camacho and The Prime Time Players (Darren Young and Titus O’Neil) defeated Kofi Kingston, R-Truth, Primo and Epico. Following the match, The Big Show came out and announced that he is single handedly going to destroy the WWE Tag Team Division and then proceeded to hit the WMD on everyone in the ring. Following this a graphic appeared on screen announcing that Rey Mysterio and Sheamus would be teaming up to face Alberto del Rio and Dolph Ziggler later in the night.
Singles Match
Damien Sandow defeated Zack Ryder.
In Ring Segment
Christian came out to the ring to host “The Peep Show” and introduced Daniel Bryan and AJ, who entered the ring together. Bryan discusses the plans for their wedding, which he says is going well and AJ ay that she has forgiven Bryan for everything that has happened in the past. Christian then asked if this was true love, to which both of them and the crowd responded with a “YES!” chant. Christian asked the crowd after this if they should get married on RAW 1,000 and asked AJ if she knows what she is doing. AJ looked at Christian and then slapped him and left the ring, however Christian stopped them and said that Bryan better be ready as he is in action next against someone AJ knows well as Kane’s music hit.
Singles Match
Kane defeated Daniel Bryan via disqualification due to interference from AJ. Following the match, AJ and Bryan kissed on the ramp before heading to the back.
In Ring Segment
Heath Slater came to the ring and said that week after week, a legend from the past has come out to face him and challenges any legend or any superstar in the back to come out and face him tonight in Heath Slater’s Open Challenge. Road Warrior Animal’s music hits as he comes out to accept the challenge.
Heath Slater’s Open Challenge
Road Warrior Animal defeated Heath Slater. Following the match, in an off-air segment, Heath got back up and said that he wants someone else from the back to come out and challenge him. Triple H’s music hit, he came out, shook Heath’s hand and then pedigreed him.
Tag Team Match
Sheamus and Rey Mysterio defeated Alberto del Rio and Dolph Ziggler (w/Ricardo Rodriguez and Vickie Guerrero) via disqualification, due to interference from Ricardo Rodriguez. Following the match, Del Rio attacked Sheamus and put him in the cross armbreaker. Dolph Ziggler then had the Money in the Bank briefcase and look destined to cash in, however Mysterio hit him with the 619 before Sheamus got back up and hit him with a Brogue Kick to end the show.
