In an update on Awesome Kong making a surprise appearance during Saturday’s AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view, Kong’s appearance was locked in around four months ago, but kept as a surprise to a very small circle of people, according to a report from PWInsider.com.

Meanwhile, Kong confirmed the reports during an appearance at Starrcast and revealed that only four people in total knew that she would be there. Kong said that when she was backstage before her match, Diamond Dallas Page gave her a huge motivational speech that helped her to find “Awesome Kong” within her again as she returned to the ring for the first time in several years.

Kong did not elaborate further as to whether she is signed to All Elite Wrestling or whether it was a one-time appearance, as she will be appearing on the third season of GLOW on Netflix.
