A benefit show to assist Japanese wrestling legend Yoshihiro Takayama and his family with medical care and other costs has been announced to take place on August 31st at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
Takayama, who held All Japan Pro Wrestling’s Triple Crown Championship, New Japan Pro Wrestling’s IWGP Heavyweight Championship and Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Global Honored Crown Heavyweight Championship over the course of his career (one of only two men to do so, with the other being Kensuke Sasaki) has been paralyzed from the neck down after he suffered an injury back in May of last year while wrestling for the DDT promotion in Osaka, Japan.
