In a post on her official Twitter account, Matt Hardy’s wife Rebecca (aka Reby Sky) commented on the news that the Broken Universe trademarks are now the property of her husband writing, “TMs I filed last year are officially safe. Glad that’s over. I promised I’d always fight for you & I did. Always will. Congrats, #BROKEN @MATTHARDYBRAND”.

IMPACT Wrestling’s decision to back off on trying to claim ownership of the trademarks was obviously part of how things changed as the company wanted to change the perception of IMPACT and cultivate a landscape where the company and its talents worked together to build a successful relationship with their characters, a decision that led to EC3 filing trademarks on his name, which he never used prior to working with the company, allowing him to use it for his WWE NXT run.
