In an update on the potential return of the XFL, the WWE production team have been working on video material geared towards promoting the return of the football league as of late, according to a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com.

The report notes that the current plan for the XFL is for the league to officially return in 2020, with the delay in time to allow the XFL to build a proper infrastructure, including the hiring of coaches and players.

The original XFL launched in 2001 and lasted for only one season.
