A medical examiner in London has confirmed that the cause of death for Silver King (real name Cesar Gonzalez) was due to a heart attack when he suddenly collapsed in the ring during an event in London on May 11th, according to a report from Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer.
The report notes that Ulises Gonzalez, the son of Silver King, stated in a press conference that his father was healthy and believes that his father would still be alive if quicker action had been taking, noting that it would have meant that his father would have needed a pacemaker and led to his retirement from wrestling.
The report adds that there has been a push for referees to get more CPR training since the death of Silver King, while Daniel Lopez, who wrestles under the name of El Satanico and runs the commission in Zapopan, has mandated that shows need two ambulances on-site, one paramedic at every show and that at least one referee must be on every show with CPR training.
